VISITATION: A casual gathering of friends and family will be held from 6 ~ 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong . Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite NASCAR apparel.
CELEBRATION OF FREDA’S LIFE: service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Chauncey Cemetery, rural Lawrence County, Illinois.

Freda E. “Granny” Goodwin, 82, of Oblong, IL passed away at 6:46 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL. Born in Chauncey, IL on September 22, 1932, she was the daughter of O. A. “Hutch” Hutchinson and Adena “Butch” (Haines) Hutchinson. On June 19, 1950, she married Robert E. “Bob” Goodwin and he preceded her in death on June 18, 1999.
Freda was a member of the Bridgeport High School class of 1950; her previous employment included cleaning houses, working at Paul and Wanda’s Snack Bar and Cue Club, Oblong, IL, and a cashier at the Oblong IGA for 38 years. Freda enjoyed bowling and was a huge Jeff Gordon NASCAR fan and a loyal follower of Y & R.
Freda is survived by her son Terry Goodwin, Oblong, IL. and daughter Brenda Miller, Vincennes, IN.; five grandchildren and spouses Bart and Wendy Goodwin, Oblong, IL.; Jim and Jessica Goodwin, Robinson, IL.; Brandy Goodwin, Florida; Chris and Sharon Burtch, Robinson, IL., and Ayron Miller, Washington, IN.; eight great-grandchildren: Logan Goodwin, Hunter Goodwin, Brooke Goodwin, Trevon Burtch, Brayden Burtch, Caden Goodwin, Wyatt Goodwin, and Trenton Hoalt; one great-great-grandson Liam Goodwin; a brother and sister-in-law Benny and Carol Hutchinson, Lawrenceville, IL; a sister Joann Ray, Richmond, IN.; two sisters-in-law Shirley Hutchinson, Bridgeport, IL. and Frances Lee Grove, Sumner, IL; along with several nieces and nephews and her constant four legged friend, Oscar.
